What is in the truffle and bon bon range?

Four shapes of box for small, round or moulded chocolates. Truffle Boxes hold rolled and enrobed truffles in round cavities, from 2 to 24. Bon Bon Boxes are shallow, with trays formed to protect painted shells. Pyramid Chocolate Boxes fold from one sheet and hold a single truffle or a few small pieces. Heart Chocolate Boxes have a lift-off lid and a tray that follows the curve of the heart.

What they share is care for the surface of the chocolate. Dusting, piping, transfer sheets and coloured cocoa butter all mark easily, so every box in this range is drawn with air above the pieces and a cup below them.

How do truffle boxes differ from bon bon boxes?

The difference is mostly in the tray and the depth. Truffles need round pockets and headroom; bon bons need a seat that matches the mould and keeps the polished dome clear of everything.

Plenty of chocolatiers order both: a ballotin for truffles packed to order at the counter, and a book-style box for a fixed selection of bon bons that customers pick up as a gift.

When should you choose a pyramid or a heart?

Pyramids suit one piece given as a favour or a sample: wedding place settings, a hotel pillow, a gift at the till. They fold from one sheet, arrive flat and stand up on a table.

How should you measure delicate pieces?

With those numbers we size the cups, the box depth and the space above the tallest piece.

1. Use a finished piece, decorated exactly as you sell it.
2. Measure the widest point across in mm.
3. Measure from the base to the very top, including piping or drizzle.
4. For moulded bon bons, note the shape of the base: round, square or faceted.
5. Send the count and these numbers with the box you have in mind.

Which tray colour should you pick?

Black trays make milk and white truffles stand out. White and clear trays make painted bon bons look brighter. Gold suits dark pieces and gift ranges. If your colours change with each collection, white or clear works with all of them.

For a heart box, a tray in a deep red or gold is popular. For a pyramid, there is no tray, so a paper cup in a colour that suits the box does the same job.

How long does an order take?

Card boxes in this range are made in 4 to 6 working days from proof approval; rigid truffle, bon bon and heart boxes take 8 to 10. After that, allow 2 to 3 working days for free tracked delivery on the UK mainland.

Card boxes and pyramids arrive flat, trays arrive nested, and rigid boxes arrive made up. Prices start from £0.25 a box for card styles, with rigid styles quoted higher. Each quote is emailed within one working day, minimums are low, and anything misprinted or damaged is put right if reported within 10 days.
